Parm was appointed as a new Non-Executive Director of Hibu Group in December 2015. Parm is currently a Non-executive Director of: Central European Media Enterprises where he chairs the nomination committee; Eir, Ireland’s incumbent telecoms service provider and the Wind Hellas Group, a mobile challenger operator in Greece. In these roles he provides strategic insight into capital allocation, new digital services development and maintaining cost efficiency through continuous process improvements. Parm is also an executive mentor with Merryck & Co.
Parm was CEO of Unitymedia, Europe’s third largest broadband cable operator, for seven years where he led a €400m network investment programme to upgrade 8m households to fibre technology and launched broadband access and digital PayTV services in triple play packages. During his tenure, Unitymedia acquired the Bundesliga and other sports rights in 2006 which were implemented over newly created digital platforms. Parm left Unitymedia after overseeing its successful sale to Liberty Global Inc for €3.5 billion.
Parm is a former Chairman of Merapar, an early stage tech & media investment fund and advisory firm. He is a former Finance Director of Liberty Media International and held a number of senior finance and strategy positions at Telewest Communications plc (now Virgin Media). Parm has represented the cable industry interests at an international level as a former board member of ANGA, the Association of German Cable Operators, and as a former member of the Executive Committee of Cable Europe.
Parm graduated from Cambridge University with a first class MA Honours degree in Mathematics and is a chartered marketer and chartered accountant in England & Wales.
